A to Z: September 2007

One of my blog visitor asked about how to display link exchange script in the blog page. So I decide to post the script for that.

The script works for blogger.com's blog. I do not know whether it will work with other blog platforms. For Wordpress users, you may be able to use the "Text" widget, but I never try this.

So for blogger.com users here are the steps:

Sign in to your blog.
In the Dashbord, click "Layout".
Once you are in go to "Template", then "Page Element".
In "Page Element", click "Add Page Element". Blogger template have several "Add Page Element" location.
When the "Add Page Element" pop-up windows open, choose the "Add HTML/JavaScript.
Just copy paste the below script and save it. Remember do not forget to change the Your Site Name with the name of your site, YourLink with your link address and the http://www.YourImageLocaciton.com with your image location address (the address where you uploaded your image into.)

The Second one:

What is Viral Link?

Viral Link, or Intersite Linking, much like link exchange, was a concept created for bloggers to add incoming links to their site, by sharing others. Loves always prefails. So by placing a link on top of the list, you are creating a Viral Link list that you hope will be spread around the internet (much like a virus). But, good virus.

We place our names on top of this list, and ask everyone that reads to do the same at their sites. Place your link, or the link of a friends blog at the top of the list, and then post about it asking people to do the same. The more this list spreads around, the more incoming links everyone on it will receive!!!

It really is a lovely idea, and a great way to show some blog love to your friends in the community. I’ll post the list here, and I hope that you will all consider doing the same at your blogs! Don’t remove any names, and don’t add more than 5… Keep the list circulating!

Here are the rules

1. Write something explaining how viral link lists or viral linking works. Make sure you aren’t just copy and pasting what I wrote, as it will show up as duplicate content and hurt you when it comes PR update time.

2. Add your link to the top of the post… or the links of a friend or two. Write some catchy anchor text (”Whatever” instead of “www.whatever.com”)

3. Place your contributions into the list.

4. Add new blog that using Do Follow plug in to the list in "My Add". And let they know about it. So they can keep list going.

Just click and copy paste it to your post, but do not forget to replace the "Your Site" with your site address and the "Your Site Name" with your prefered site name.
